Family Traditions & Easter Eggs
April 4, 2026
| Friends, In observance of Easter this Sunday, I’ll keep today’s message short and sweet. Easter season has long been my favorite time of year, with Holy Week building to the most meaningful Sunday of the year. I remember dressing for church in a matching dress with my younger sister, putting flowers from my mom’s garden on the cross in the church courtyard, and holding my grandmother’s hand as we walked into the service. The day always ended the same way, gathered together, celebrating the miracle of Christ’s resurrection (and plenty of deviled eggs). Now that I am living hundreds of miles from home and my grandparents have since passed, I’m reminded of how precious these memories are. For those of you surrounded by family and friends this weekend, I hope you take a moment to appreciate the noise, the mess, and the togetherness for the blessings that they are. And if, like my husband and me, you’re spending Easter far from home, I hope you’re reminded that you are deeply loved and never alone this season. If you’re looking for something to settle into the weekend, I’d invite you to listen to one of my favorite worship songs that is a beautiful reminder that His love follows us wherever we are: Remains by Olivia Georgia. Before we wrap up, we have to spotlight Braswell Family Farms for sending approximately 40,000 eggs to Washington, DC for the annual Easter Egg Roll! This marks the fifth consecutive year they’ve made the journey from Nashville, NC to our nation’s capital, with a stop in Winston-Salem for some festive dyeing along the way. If eggs are part of your Easter plans, be sure to check out recipe inspiration from the North Carolina Egg Association. Wishing you a joyful and meaningful Easter weekend, |
