| Friends, As you read this week’s Ag Dispatch, I’ve officially wrapped up my first full week with the NC Ag Partnership. It’s been a fast-paced start of diving into the Partnership’s work to date and hitting the road to connect with some of the supporters who have helped shape this organization. The warm welcome I’ve received in these first few days has been humbling, and I’m very grateful for your immediate support and excitement for what the Partnership is doing. The question I’ve heard most often this week is: “Where do we go from here?”. While I don’t have all the answers yet, here’s what I can tell you: Senator Jackson’s leadership planted the seed that grew into the NC Ag Partnership. Your continued support and involvement have helped it take root and thrive. Now, it’s my honor to build on that strong foundation and carry the work forward with the care and enthusiasm it deserves. I take that responsibility seriously. Over the next several weeks, I’ll be working closely with stakeholders and our board of directors to build a strategic plan that reflects the priorities of North Carolina’s agriculture industry. This plan will not be made behind closed doors; it will be shaped by your insights, experiences, and ideas. And just like when the Ag Partnership started, we’ll compliment, not compete, with the many active and successful agriculture groups here in our state. I am extremely grateful to Peter Daniel for his leadership as Chairman of the Board and the great work he has done so far. Peter and I will work together closely as we move forward.
